Timmelkam, 5.4.2010, Easter monday, 10.00 CET, outside temperature 3° C
Welcome
Bakshish Austria is an Austrian ralley team participating in the Rallye Allgäu - Orient in 2010. We are a group of twelve men with different backgrounds living all over Europe who want to have some adventure outside our daily business lives for a good cause.
Background
One of the last remaining automobile adventures in the world, the Allgäu Orient old and youngtimer rallye starts in the Allgäu region in southern Germany and finishes in Amman, Jordan. It takes place for the fifth time in 2010, starting on April the 30th in Oberstaufen, Germany. As a low-budget ralley it is a good alternative for the Rallye Paris-Dakar for people who seek adventure, are positively crazy and have a good team spirit. Already in previous years the rallye has attracted some attention in German and Austrian newspapers (e.g.
,
,
,
,
) and also in TV shows such as Abenteuer Leben
.
Bakshish-Austria media relations
Although we are still waiting with a full launch of our online presence (i.e., Facebook, Twitter, etc.) until the development of our online charity campaign is finished, our media relations are established in the background. So far the following media partner has agreed on a cooperation:
| RAMP – Germany's "best" car magazine - is publishing a picture diary with at least four pages in its summer 2010 issue. The length of the coverage is depending on the quality of the picture we are able to provide. |
Charity
The alternative character of the rallye is underpinned by its dedication to a charitable cause. The proceeds of the sale of the rallye cars once they reach Jordan are donated to a charity. With entering Jordan the ownership of the cars is in fact transferred to the UN World Food Programm or another charity approved by the kingdom of Jordan.
